For 3845 you have a few options in terms of upgrades and spare modules.  I'm assuming you're asking about a field upgrade so you would be interested in these modules:

MEM3800-256D=               256MB DIMM DDR DRAM for the Cisco 3800 Series

MEM3800-512D=               512MB DIMM DDR DRAM for the Cisco 3800 Series

These are the only memory modules officially supported by Cisco.

Thanks,

Can i use a non-cisco RAM memory...?

Someone tested it before?

Will it work? Possibly.

Is it supported?  Absolutely not.

Could it cause the router to crash and generally not be a happy camper? Possibly.

Another concern for non-cisco memory is an RMA.  If later this router is returned under RMA and is received with the third party memory installed, you can be billed full price for the Cisco memory shipped on the RMA.

Thanks for the replies.

I have to buy Cisco Memory
