3945 & NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 compatiability issue.

Have a new 3945 router and trying to install a NM-HDV2-1T1/E1 card.  Card is not being recognized in the show inventory or show diagnostic command.  In the boot up sequence I see a %PA-3-NOTSUPPORTED: PA in slot4 (Unknown (type 987)) is not supported on this image/license enabled error.  Attached is the boot up information with a show diagnostic command issued with both errors.

Is this an IOS issue or licensing issue

Check Table 7.  You need IOS version 15.0(1)M.  Particularly the "M" train.

High-Density Digital Voice/Fax Network Modules for Cisco 2800/2900/3800/3900 Series

I'm currently using IOS version 15.0(1)M3.  So isn't that higher than IOS version IOS version 15.0(1)M?

Hmmmm ... That should work.

Can you try to reboot the router and post the entire bootup process?

The bootup information is located in the 3945.txt.zip file in the beginning of the thread.

• Cisco IOS Software Release 15.0(1)M

• "UC Technology" images

• 1 GB DRAM

• 256 MB Flash

Ok.  Thanks for the output.  It was helpful.

Your router is running IP Base license and you need the "UC Technology" license.  It shows in the bootup sequence.

ATION-6-LICENSE_LEVEL: Module name = c3900 Next reboot level = ipbasek9 and License = ipbasek9

*Dec 16 01:50:40.655: %PA-3-NOTSUPPORTED: PA in slot4 (Unknown (type 987)) is not supported on this image/licenses enabled. Please issue "show diag" CLI command to display the PA information, verify it is supported and, if applicable, ensure the correct license key is installed. A newer image version or license key may be needed.
