Hi Telmuun,

For the 3945, the IP SLA services require the Data license to be

active. Please review the links below and order the DATA license.

I can help you turn on the evaluation mode of the license but it will work

for 60 days and you can get a permanent license from your reseller.

Router(config)#license boot module c3900 technology-package datak9

Please save the config and reload the router and the commands should be available now.

Here are some links that explains the licensing:

HI Inayath

Thanks for information. Seems like Data license sure needs.

But I just contacted my friend and he has 3945E with Security+IPbase and he said he is using IPSLAs without any trouble.

and i`m wondering if security license can enable IP SLA, or how he can use IP SLAs?

please help, i`m confused in licenses.

Thanks,

Telmuun

Hi TElmuun,

Could you please get the following outputs from yoru collegue device:

I found some documantation on www.cisco.com.

But i`m not sure if i can trust this document or not.

please take a look at it, and if anyone from Cisco see this, please explain this document and confirm me if i can trust this document or not.

First of all you do not buy "security bundle" but simply an additional license.

Second, you can enable an evalutaion license and check yourself what features gets enabled.

The security license and data license both enable the IPSLA feature. We just went through this same confusion a couple months ago. We found out that we only needed the sec license to enable IPSLA on our routers for what we needed.

Either data or sec works though.

Okay I got this but unfortunately the thread was deleted not sure how, Anyhow its back again.

Please find the details:

The IP SLA feature is in the Data license, UC license or the security license set. Therefore, you will need to upgrade to something other than the base license.
