3945e QoS

hi all,

we have a 3945e router and are about to set it production.

In the datasheet it says that :

* The Cisco 3900 Series enables deployment in high-speed WAN environments with concurrent services enabled up to 350 Mbps.

When we enable QoS, can we expect the performance/throughput to drop?

are QoS running in hardware/asic?

could not find any good reading on this...

regards,

Paal

Yes, throughput might drop when QoS is enabled.

The 350 Mbps recommendation allows for "typical" QoS (and other services) configuration.

As far as I know, generally ISRs perform almost all service features using their main CPU.
