4500 vss process to factory reset both switches

I need to factory default a pair of 4500 switches in VSS mode. 

This is how I plan to do it. 

1.  on switch 1  execute redundancy force-switchover

2. write erase on the switch 2 and reload

3. this should failover to switch 1

4. write erase in switch 1

Is there anything I missed? Should I remove 

Maybe I should do a switch convert mode stand-alone on both switches and then do  a write erase on both?

Yes, convert the switches to stand-alone first before erasing the config.
