Hi,
We are having two 6500 series switches in same floor. In First switch 6748 line cards is installed with DFC-3 card.
In our Editing workstations are connected to this line card for higher cache as well performance.
In second switch I have installed 6748 line card with DFC-3 card today morning successfully. Unfortunately editing workstations
are not working on new switch even though it is same hardware / switching capability.
When I am troubleshooting I found below difference between two switches kindly refer below.
4th Floor 1st Switch – Editing workstation is working fine.

Hi Nagarajan,
Are you running the same IOS in both devices?

Hello,
If you want to allow the modules to run in truncated mode you should use the command:
fabric switching-mode allow truncated
The flow through mode is only supported by CEF256 modules when there is no switch fabric present. If you have CEF720 modules, you may use truncated mode.
Hope this helps.

The would make sense. Looks like the first switch you have a Cat 6513 with sup 720 engine with dual full fabric-enabled cards in slots 9 - 13 for dual fabric connected cards for eample WS-X68xx and WS-67xx hence why you are using compact mode used for those cards. The compact mode is used when no nonfaric-enabled modules are installed.
what is the sup on the second switch?
post "show module" on both switch..

Both are sup-720.
