Hi all,

I am setting up a 877-M and want to use one of the LAN ports, specfically FE3 as a WAN interface.

I have spent alot of time researching this but am still confused on exactly how to go about it.

Could someone please help.

A basic working config of this in action would help and an explanation.

Thanks

F3 is a Layer 2 only port.

So it cannot be done? i have read it can be done by creating 2 vlans and configuring a logical dialer interface?

So it cannot be done?

Not unless you plug F3 to another router doing the routing.

what about if i configured it as described on this page

That's what I responded above.

Ahhhk thanks, could you please explain this solution a bit more?

You connect 877 unit 1 normally:  DSL port connects to your DSL line.

Get another 877 and link them together using the LAN ports.

Why anyone want to do it this way, I don't know.  It doesn't make any sense.

What is the speed of your DSL link?
