Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all files! Continue? [OK]

Router IOS Configuration Recovery is unsuccessful

Router Configuration Dialogue will be used

--- System Configuration Dialog ---

Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]: no

In particular it is saying boot: cannot determine first executable file name ondevice "flash:"

And then after booting the image

Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all files! Continue? [OK]
Erase of nvram: complete
Router IOS Configuration Recovery is unsuccessful

Router Configuration Dialogue will be used

We have tried multiple times to reflash the unit using both rommon and format flash:/ upgrade automatic getversion tftp after boot.

We have also done a write erase and reloaded config. All without luck

I am starting suspect we have a fault flash card. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Thanks In advance

That is nothing.

I can see the router booting up to the prompt.  I don't see any problems.

The problem is that it clears the nvram every boot.

An yes I have set

config-register 0x2102

DRAM configuration is 32 bits wide
255K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
250880K bytes of ATA System CompactFlash (Read/Write)

1. Could you try to do an "fsck"?
2. If the issue still persist, try upgrading the IOS to, say, 15.4(3)M10.

Hi Leo

fsck passes

Starting File System integrity check
NOTE: File System will be deinited and later rebuilt

Starting partition 0 Analysis
Boot Sector/Boot Parameter Block check ...[Passed]
DIB not present
DIB & Monlib check ...[Passed]
Partition Init check ...[Passed]
Directory entries check ...[Passed]
fsck of flash: complete

We have tried version M9 and M10 on this unit and both have the same problem. We only have M8 on it at the moment as it is still our SOE version
