A question on router utilization

Hi,

Can anyone tell me why a router can show 95 % utilization, but the show proc cpu sort command only lists a cumalative amount of 45%?

(these numbers vary)

Why can't I see all causes of utilization?

The hidden CPU processing is known as interrupt processing or fast path processing.  This processing is not detailed in the proc cpu display.  It represents the CPU processing being used to forward packets in the most optimal manner the router supports.
