Hi All,
I've 2 units of Cisco 4948 switches connected via trunk.
1st-4948 is the ACTIVE switch
2nd-4948 is the STANDBY switch
& I have 1 ACE 4710 .
If I connect all 4-ports in a port-channel to the 1st-4948 ACTIVE switch (shown below), when the failover happens ACE will lose the connectivity.
Please advise the best possible connectivity options based on the above scenario.
I am looking for a valid justification why we cannot have two port-channels Active/standby mode connecting to two different Active\Standby switches.
Appreciate your reply.
Cheers
Mikey

Are you saying you know you can't use 2 port channels or not ?
I am confused as to what you mean. Simply connect the ACE device to both switches, using a portchannel on each switch. One will probably block due to STP but will become active if the other uplink fails.
If i have misunderstood please clarify.
