dear all i have got an aeronet AIR-AP1242AG-E-K9.. but the signal strenght of this device is really bad.. after 10 mtrs only it goes from good to bad.. means arounf 45% where as i have got another unbranded device which is far batter then cisco.. is there any way to check if i am doing some thing wrong or the device is like this....

1. Make sure the antennas are attached correctly.
2. Check for radio interferrence.
3. Check and ensure the client wireless NIC card has the latest drivers.

Which band (2.4G vs 5G) do you use? How many antenna do you install on the band? By default, AP1242 uses two antennas to avoid multipath problem; so that antenna diversity is used. If you only have one antenna, you need to configure antenna receive left and antenna transmit left under dot11radio<0/1>
If possible, collect the output of show dot11 as all and look at the signal strenght. Ideally range is between -60dBm to -70dBm. Anything between -70dBm to -80dBm is fairly. If you have anything below -80dBm, the signal is not good enough for stable connection.
