ASA Firewalls, and SSL Certs: Does the Cert have to be reapplied if the config changes?

We are looking to apply signed SSL certs to some ASA's.

The question we have is what happens if the config on the firewall changes in any way.

Does the cert have to reapplied? Does it have to be a brand new certificate?

Or does the certificate information remain in the config until specifically altered within the configuration?

If you have a failover pair, I have seen that the certificate just disappears when you failover. But other than that, certificate doesn't go away when you make changes.

Thanks for the answer
