Hi.. i am looking to upgrade ASR 1002, 2RU router from software ver.  asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.02.04.00.122-33.XND.bin to asr1000rp1-adventerprisek9.03.16.08.S.155-3.S8-ext.bin. Also running current Rommon ver 12.2(33r)XNC.

Please confirm if i would need to upgrade Rommon ver also to support new software version.

Also confirm if this is directly upgrade to this new version.

Hi
the release notes dont specifically say a certain rom or interim image is required to get to 3.16 , heres the guide below , usually when not stated its not required and you can just jump direct

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/asr1000/release/notes/asr1k_rn_rel_notes/asr1k_feats_important_notes_316s.html

I can tell you though i am running this below on my ASR1001Xs and my rom is 15.4(2r)S and it has worked fine the last year

xxxxxxxxxxxx#SH VER | I asr
System image file is "bootflash:asr1001x-universalk9.03.16.07b.S.155-3.S7b-ext.SPA.bi"

xxxxxxxxxxxx#sh rom-monitor rp active | i 15
System Bootstrap, Version 15.4(2r)S, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

whats the current ROM show as ?
personally if the rom is very low i would jump to high end of 15 or 16 , at least then the ROM is up to date for future upgrades even if not required now
