The ASR 1002 doesn't seem to be giving the same kind of QoS information that you can get off another series router.  ACL's tied class maps don't give hit counts, and the information from a "show policy map inter" is next to worthless. 

    Class-map: Class_5 (match-any)

      153912803 packets, 28503186103 bytes

      5 minute offered rate 1645000 bps, drop rate 0000 bps

Is there a way to turn on packet marking statistics?

By way of comparison, this is a show policy map off an 1800 (much more useful):

      6638 packets, 1305579 bytes

      5 minute offered rate 0 bps, drop rate 0 bps

        0 packets, 0 bytes

Hi,

This is unfortunately the behavior of the ASR in all IOS versions.

It doesn't report the access-list hits and the following documentation bug is available to confirm this:

QoS ACL counters is not supported on ASR 1000 - needs to be documented

Symptom:

QoS ACL counters is not supported on ASR 1000 yet. Till the time its officially supported by an IOS release, this bug will serve as a proof for customers.

Workaround:

we should rely on policy map counters only.

As to this date, there are no plans to support this counter yet.

ASR router is a hardware switching based platform compared to other routers like 7200,7300 etc..which are software switching based platforms. All the packets will be switched at the line rate by QFP in ASR. The statistics reported for ACLs called under class-map report the packets which are handled by software. Since the ASR is hardware switched platform, these counters will not report any value.

If you are running the new IOS XE 3.3S you can use the following command to see the marking on the QoS policies:

platform qos marker-statistics

According to the documentation you'll have to remove any policies you have, enable the marker-statistics feature and then re-apply your policies
