Hi All,

Can you please advise if there any limit on MTU size for GIG interface on ASR 1006 router?

I am able to ping P2P link with size 9082 but not with anything greater than 9082.

SPA-2X1GE-V2 is the card type and its same at both ends.

Please help and below are the more details about device and platform.

Hi,

I think you are hitting something called "Overload by Packet Fragment".

If packets are fragmented due to the MTU size, even if the ingress interface is less than the wire rate, wire rate can be exceeded at the egress interface. In this case, the packet is dropped at the egress interface.

the output of the following command might be helpful too:

show im database interface gigabitEthernet 0/1/0/3

You can read more here and here.
