we have Cisco ASR1001, but when we try to bring up this port - it goes down itself. what could be a reason?

TAC:

as we connected the router over Smart License. all ports leases are then enabled.

This is permanent solution, as Cisco new IOS-XE codes are not supporting traditional licensing model.
So in near future , you should use smart licensing

Upgrade the firmware of the router first and try again.

Hello @BorislavPenchev0962 ,

from the log messages we see:

>> License request for feature interface_1g 1.0 failed.

post show license

it looks like it has issues with licenses even for a single 1GE (this is strange)

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hello @BorislavPenchev0962 ,

we see:

Index 33 Feature: interface_1g

License State: Active, In Use

and

Index 32 Feature: interface_10g

Period Used: 0 minute 0 second
License Type: EvalRightToUse
License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA not accepted
License Count: 0/0 (In-use/Violation)
License Priority: None

and

index 3 Feature: ipbase
Period left: Life time
License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, In Use
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Medium

I have never seen a license for the usage of 1GE interface with count 1.

>>>>>>>>> License Count: 1/1/0 (Active/In-use/Violation)

I understand the need for a license for 10GE interfaces but you should be able to use mutliple GE ports on the router otherwise it is almost useless.

Contact the partner/reseller that have sold you the device.

If you are a partner contact TAC or the licensing portal.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

hi,

did you recently upgrade your ASR1K to IOS-XE 16.9.x?

the license structure might have changed. i don't see the interface_1g in our ASR1001 routers in IOX-XE 3.x

you'll need to contact TAC license team in order to activate this.

here the answer of TAC license:

Base of below documentation for ASR1001-HX , enabling any of the these ports will consume one 1G license which is already included with device.

1GE ports 4 and 5 require a port license

1GE ports 6 and 7 require a port license.

So if you have below state of ports you need license and , you have use on
