So I'm having multiple subinterfaces on ASR1006X and trying to bundle some of its physical ports in port-channel to be connected to an uplink switch so that L2 VLANs can be passed thru . IOS-XE version is 16.9 fuji and only port get bundled . The only mode that can be used is LACP and thats werid. Any ideas?
try to use LACP to build the bundle using channel-group 10 mode active on the switch side.
The switch stack should support LACP on bundle even if member links are taken from different stack member switches.
LACP is recommended over channel-group 10 mode on that bundles unconditionally. This last method can create issues in case of errors in cabling as it unconditionally bundles. LACP allows to verify that each member link is connected to a port belonging to the same device (or stack) and to the same channel-group.
This adds a security check that prevents the issues of unconditionally bundling.
