ATM interface

I am testing HSRP, what i am doing is that i am shutting the interface on Access Router(ATM sunb-interface).

While entering primary Router through its Secondary Router, it is showing me State Active on Primary one, but it should show me standby.

problem is that i am seeing ATM interface on primary CPE up, even if i have shutdown, its corresponding interface on Access router.

Any suggestions.

you want to track ATM WAN link, if it dies on the primary standby router, the secondary will take over.

You can use the "standby track " command to track the wan link. If it dies, the standby priority would reduce by 10 at each time frame. Until when the priority is lower than the secondary, secondary will attempet become primary.
