HI all,
We are having a very strange behaviour on a 7304 router, CPU over 45%, line users impossible to clear, etc. The thing is that we are constantly changing the config of the PVCs, I mean, class-vc from 4MB to 2MB, then to 512KB... creating, deleting and recreating in order to cange the name of the PVC...
How that affects to the overall behaviour of the platform?
thx in advance

This is the expected behavior when changes are made to the vc class and the vc's reset themselves. If there is a change that needs to be made to a vc class this should be made during a maintenance window. Upon making the change and exiting the vc-class all vc's will get torn down and re-initialize w/ the new parameters. This will raise the cpu and your access to the 7300 will be frozen until the cpu has enough processes to resume your connection. Now just because the cpu is under load doesn't mean the box has stopped passing traffic or a single process is hogging the entire cpu, although it appears as if the virtual-exec has a majority of the cpu, but there are still other processes running.

So... changes are not made over the vc class, which would affect to all the PVCs. It's done inside the PVC config, affecting just to a single PVC, not to the entire bundle. Does your explanation apply in the same way?
thx a lot :)
