Basic WIC 1DSU T1 problem

I have just set up a home lab with 4 2600 routers and 2 2950 switches.  All the routers have 1dsu wic cards in at least one slot with most having both slots with them.

My problem is now that I made a T1 crossover cable to practice the WAN routing for my ICDN1 and 2 test, both router A and router B won't connect.  They show the output

From router B

Interface

IP-Address

OK?

Method

Status

Protocol

FastEthernet0/0

192.168.0.80YESNVRAMupup

Serial0/0

192.168.2.2YESNVRAMdowndown

Router A is similar except the ip address I am using for serial 0/0 is 192.168.2.1

The cross-over cable I made using the following instructions

http://sh-run.com/2009/06/04/how-to-make-a-t1-crossover-cable/

and I do have experience making cables

The error I am getting appears to point to the cable not being any good which would mean I made it wrong.

my relevant show running-config is as follows:

RouterA

interface Serial0/0

ip address 192.168.2.1 255.255.255.0

fair-queue

service-module t1 clock source internal

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

RouterB

interface Serial0/0

ip address 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0

fair-queue

service-module t1 clock source internal

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

Both are using HDLC....I tried PPP but it also didn't work for me.

I know that subnet mask has more hosts than I need for P2P but I just am trying to get it up right now to verify it works.

What am I overlooking?  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

yes, I think you need these commands

service-module t1 clock source internal
service-module t1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64

It seems since it is t1 interface you don't need clocking

You need to clock the DCE side if the serial cable

clock rate 64000

also since this is t1 you don't need these commands:

service-module t1 clock source internal

service-module t1 timeslots 1-24

every time I try to set the clock rate on one of the routers it doesn't take.  I checked the running-config after i put it in and notice it is not present.  Also being this has rj-45 ends I don't have a DCE side hardware wise.  Is there a command to set one side as the DCE that I am missing?

here is the exact command I use to set the clock in case I am screwing up there.

RouterB(config)#interface serial 0/0

RouterB(config-if)#clock rate 64000

RouterB#show running-config

interface Serial0/0

ip address 192.168.2.2 255.255.255.0

fair-queue

I removed the service-module lines

"sh contro" will show you the DCE or DTE side

I don't see it in there either :-(.   Here is the output from both routers of that command.  I have truncated it to just the serial interface.  Apparently this is becoming quite the t/s problem.

Thanks that got it.  I also needed to rebuild my cable because I had a pin not quite mated up with the wire.  Plugged in the new cable with the config you gave and saw the carrier detection light come on for the first time.  Thanks!
