BGP design question

Current setup
Site1 uses site2 as primary path to route to coorpoate lan/regional offices.
Site1 uses site3 as secondary path to route to coorpoate lan/regional offices.
BGP prepending where required for site failover /etc.

I would like to further enchanced the routing as follows
Reduce number of routes in BGP RiB - reduce routes from corporate LAN/ regional offices advertised to site 1 via site2/3.
Possibly only advertise default routes from site 3 to site 1 and advertise specific routes from site 2 to site 1?
or inject default routes from both sites2 & site 3 to site 1 and prepend accordingly?

I would say advertise two default route towards site 1 and depending if your using a sinlge or dual rts at site 1 use the Weight or Local Pref PA at that site to state its preffred path towards site 2/3
