BGP FAILOVER

Hi All,

Attached below is disgram that show how my BGP session is establish.

1. main flow is through my principal provider

2. backup will serve when principal is down

Will to know the ideal config for this to make it work and with any traffic impact.

Wish to config the Backup link

You can simply give the primary provider a higher BGP weight under the neighbour command in BGP process - as you have a single edge router. If you also wish to control inbound routing you can use AS path pretending using your private or public AS or sub-AS number towards your secondary provider.

Hi Jamie,

have done just that, but the provider of the secondary provider sees traffic going through that link while the primary link is still up, futhermore when some sites do not open such as facebook for example. i have prepended my as even 4 times still same issue
