Could anyone explain BGP PIC and bgp recursion host command?
Although I have read several references, but I am not sure the difference between them.
My understanding below is correct?
1. Only BGP PIC is enabled
When I configure "bgp additional-paths install" to a router,
recursion is disabled for two conditions:
- For next hops learned with a /32 network mask (host routes)
- For next hops that are directly connected
2. Only BGP recursion host is enabled
When I configure "bgp recursion host" to a router,
recursion is ENABLED only for one conditions:
- For next hops learned with a /32 network mask (host routes)
3. BGP PIC and BGP recursion host are enabled
When I configure "bgp additional-paths install" and "bgp recursion host" to a router,
recursion is ENABLED only for one conditions:
- For next hops learned with a /32 network mask (host routes)
but recursion is disabled for one conditions:
- For next hops that are directly connected
