Hello Experts,
I have an query for the below. Please correct me if I am wrong and provide me an solution.
When I had given an command : show running-config | sec bgp, the output shows as follows:
(Taken one network segment for sample)
address-family ipv4
network 10.180.0.0 mask 255.255.0.0
Questions:
1. As per the BGP theory any route advertised locally it need to be routing table as below:
Network Next Hop Metric LocPrf Weight Path
*> 10.180.0.0/16 0.0.0.0(local route).
But when I given the command: sh ip bgp | i 10.180.0.0 in router it show the output as below:
*> 10.180.0.0/16 10.242.31.129 0 32768 i
sh ip bgp 10.180.0.0
BGP routing table entry for 10.180.0.0/16, version 3532426
Paths: (1 available, best #1, table default)
Advertised to update-groups:

Local
10.242.31.129 from 0.0.0.0 (10.242.0.88)
Origin IGP, metric 0, localpref 100, weight 32768, valid, sourced, local, best
rx pathid: 0, tx pathid: 0x0
2. Could you please conform why the next hop is showing as different, even though it was advertised locally in my router.
Regards,
Sathish
