C1111-8P + 802.3az - Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) ?

Hi all

Do anyone know if the switchports on this router do 802.3az by default (like on some switches), and if yes, can you turn it off ?

Thanks

Thomas

Hi

 According to Datasheet, they dont:

Inline PoE

● Optional internal adapter for inline PoE on 4 switch ports for IP phones or external wireless access points; 802.3af-compliant PoE or 802.3at-compliant PoE+.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/1000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/datasheet-c78-739512.html

But 802.3az EEE and PoE (802.3af/at/bt) are two completely different things.

But yes, the datasheet does not mention 802.3az - but then again, the datasheet does not mention a lot of other 802.3 things that Im sure the router supports.

802.3az will reduce power consumption during periods of low data activity so as there is traffic going though ethernet green ethernet won't activate.

No, EEE is not supported on router switchports.

I believe EEE is supported on switches only.

You absolutely right it is only on POE switch with reduce power consumtion on low activity traffic only.
switch will automatically active GREEN ETHERNET when there is not much traffic on that ports.
