Hi,
We have xconnect configured on a number of our customers which have there own circuit going into your device. Some of our customers would like to terminate their lease lines on a servers which are seperate by servers in each vlan (one cable trunked into the switch).
Is it possible to terminate the xconnect on the trunk link within the switch there the customers are connect to their servers?
Thanks

Hello John,
Yes you can. Configuration is same as if it would be access port. But you should check if your switch support this feature.
Best Regards

Hi,
Don't really understand, if I had my trunk as Gi1/0/1
Gi1/0/1
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk allowed vlan 100-110,120-130,155
and I wanted to have a xconnect terminate on vlan 100 would the config be like below, if so would this not vlan it a svi?
int vlan 100
xconnect XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX 100 etc...

Hello John,
We probably di not understand each other. I thought that you want carry trunk over pseudowire and that this pseudowire will be terminated on trunk switch port.
Can you explain what are you trying to do exactly? I have no idea what you ment by ->
...if so would this not vlan it a svi?
Best Regards

We have a L3 switch which terminated our clients lease line connections these are mostly L2 and most client carry more than one vlan within the lease lines (trunks).
This terminating switch is connected to another L3 switch which has a trunk link to a server farm enviroment and other a 2960 L2 switch.
Setup is like:
Lease Line
|
V
L3 Switch 1
|
V
L3 Switch 2
|
V
Server Farm/2960 Switch
I understand I cannot terminate a xconnect connection on the server farm or the 2960 switch as these devices are not aware of xconnect feature. But the L3 device 2 has a normall 802.1q trunk link to the Server Farm/2960 switch.
Is it possible I can terminate the xconnect on one of the vlans which passes via the trunk, which then can be picked up by the 2960 switch of the servers?
