Hello all, I have a router that is currently only booting up to rommon mode. It cannot find an image in flash. As such I set up a tftp server on my pc, copied the IOS to the root, and did the tftpdnld from rommon mode.
It gets all the way through the transfer with no errors, and then says:
tftp copy: operation terminated due to bad checksum comparison.
This is happening no matter what image I attempt to bring down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cisco 2611 trying to put 12.1.27 IP on the router.
meminfo output:
Main memory size: 32 MB.
Available main memory starts at 0x10000, size 32704KB
IO (packet) memory size: 25 percent of main memory.
NVRAM size: 32KB

It sounds like the image on your PC has a problem. I wonder if the image copy to the PC contributed to the problem. How did you copy/move the image? Were you careful to do a binary copy rather than a character copy of the file?

I downloaded it from Cisco and saved it straight to the TFTP directory. I got the same error.

Hi
Whts the current ios version which u were having in ur router ?
Can you also try to load and check the existing ios version ?
In recent past we had seen some issues related to some kinda bootstrap mismatch with the newer versions but not sure though about that.

Hi
try with a new image other than this. it will work some times the IOS might not be matching the checksum or not downloaded fully
you can verify the checksum

I have tried 3 different images. I have no bootable image on my router. That is why I am in rommon. I keep getting the same error. I downloaded the images by logging into cisco via webpage, and downloaded from the appropriate link using IE6. I saved the file directly to the root of my TFTP server. I did not save the file to my desktop, then move it. Let me know if there is something else I should try.
