Cisco 1841 and WIC-1T for data transmission with RS-422 equipment

Hello everyone,

I would like to connect my 1841 to the equipment that has RS-422 interface in order to transmit data. I have to buy one WIC-1T to support it. However, I am not sure that this module will be able to support RS-422 or not (As I can see there is DB25 which is the interface of RS-422, but I realize that RS-232 also has 25 pins.)

Anynone has experienced this scenarios before?

I appreciate you help, thank you very much.

Pawin

To what are you connecting? RS-422 on 25 pins (EIA-530) is an uncommon interface.

However, the cable is: CAB-530MT= (Male DTE).

Thank you very much Paolo. I'm going to connect the cisco router to a radio transmitter which has RS-422 interface.

I could not see anything on the datasheet of WIC-1T which says it could support RS-422, do you think it will work?

Cheers,

Pawin

You should be OK then. With different cables, the card supports different types of interface.

Thanks for the nice rating and good luck!
