Hi, I have a 2811 router that is configured as a DHCP server. There are 2 pools defined a IPT and user one. The user scope apprarently has never worked so all workstations are statically assigned. However, the DHCPD receive process is as follows:
CPU utilization for five seconds: 83%/5%; one minute: 83%; five minutes: 83%
PID Runtime(ms) Invoked uSecs 5Sec 1Min 5Min TTY Process
150 2180134841857467585 117 71.23% 73.91% 72.41% 0 DHCPD Receive
Also, the following message is being logged to console.
Feb 10 16:12:43.696: %SCHED-3-UNEXPECTEDEVENT: Process received unknown event (maj 10, min 0). -Process= "DHCPD Receive", ipl= 0, pid= 150, -Traceback= 0x4167DE50 0x4177DE98 0x4177E17C 0x42D60358 0x42D6033C
I have other routers configured the same and they are fine, help!!!
Cheers,
s.

Have you tried debugging it to see what's going on? I may be inundated with requests from an erroring device...
If you are concerned about debugging perhaps do a wireshark trace on the LAN or SPAN the routers LAN port.

Hi, I was slightly worried in debugging as CPU is so high and the device is serving a fire station. :-) I think your right i'll see if I can get a wireshark on. Strange thing is traffic count on all interfaces is really low.
Cheers,
Scott.
