Cisco 2900 NTP via DHCP

Hello,

I have a Cisco 2900 router and run the DHCP server on it.  What I would like to do is, except for 'handing out' DNS and GW etc, also  'hand out' the address for the NTP server (which is the router itself).

browsing around I found something like:

ip dhcp pool THISPOOL

network 192.168.10.0 255.255.255.0

default-router 192.168.10.1

domain-name localdomain

dns-server 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2

option 42 ip 192.168.10.1                                   (for NTP)

option 66 ip 192.168.10.10                                (for TFTP)

lease infinite

is that the correct way to do it?   the option 42 line?  and I assume the IP address is the ipaddr of the NTP server?

thanks,

Ron

Hello,

that looks by the book, option 42 followed by the IP address of the NTP server...

alright,  I'll try that...

btw:  option 42,  suggests there are at least 41 others...  is there a list of those ?

interesting...

thanks!
