Cisco 2901 upgrade

Hi newbie here...

Just recently started on an all around IT job for a small company. I noticed the router's IOS were way behind. Latest seems to be : Release 15.7.3M6 MD

Cisco IOS Software, C2900 Software (C2900-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.6(3)M, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Technical Support: http://www.cisco.com/techsupport
Copyright (c) 1986-2016 by Cisco Systems, Inc.
Compiled Thu 28-Jul-16 03:28 by prod_rel_team

ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 15.0(1r)M6, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

I tried to find online but seem cannot exactly find the instruction/prerequisites if I need to do a specific FW version prior.

Cross platform release notes has a link for Upgrading to a new Release but link seems to be broken.

http://www.cisco.com/en/us/products/ps10977/prod_installation_guides_list.html

Wonder if someone would be able to provide some guide or instructions for me to follow through and update our routers to latest IOS.

Thanks!

John

In addition, normally to obtain the software, from Cisco, for the router, you'll need an active support contract (BTW, if I remember correctly, toward EoL, Cisco will no longer provide new contracts, although they will allow renewal of contracts until EoL).

Thanks Joseph. Yes it looks like it is asking for a valid service contract to proceed and download the recommended IOS. Aw we are a small business now so sure how to go about this. Any ideas/recommendations is greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot!

Kind regards,
John

Sorry, my experience hasn't ever been dealing with support contract (beyond having access to support for already active contracts).

thanks Nithin!
