Cisco 819G-4G-V-K9 4G configuration (Verizon+SIM card)

Hi!

We've picked up a Cisco 819 to play around with the cellular capabilities (SDP down the road).

I have an unlocked Verizon SIM card installed..

yourname#sh cellular 0 security

Card Holder Verification (CHV1) = Disabled

SIM Status = OK

SIM User Operation Required = None

Number of CHV1 Retries remaining = 3

yourname#sh cellular 0 profile

Profile 1 = INACTIVE*

--------

PDP Type = IPv4

Access Point Name (APN) = VZWINTERNET

Authentication = NONE

I'm reading all kinds of configuration setups....and it all does not seem to fit our situation.  The main resource I've used is this one:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/interfaces/software/feature/guide/EHWIC-4G-LTESW.pdf

Does anyone have some guidance on moving forward with an unlocked SIM card to get the modem configured?  Do I need to work with Verizon at all, or does having the unlocked SIM card suffice?

Thanks!

I'm kind of in the same boat.  Although I've noticed that the cell portion seems to be working as I can actually send a text to the router from my phone and it receives it.  The only problem is that I'm not getting an ip address on the cell 0 interface.

Check out my blog post for this issue:

I ended up getting it resolved.  The issue (for me) was that I didn't configure line 3 with the dialer script and the "modem InOut."
