Cisco 886VA gets no link with Annex-J

Hi all,

i used a Cisco 886VA with Annex-B service in Germany. Now the provider has changed the DSLAM port to Annex-J but the router does not get any connection anymore.

As per Cisco homepage (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/data_sheet_c78-613481.html) the router should support Annex-J in table 7:

Cisco 886VA: Optimized for Annex B; also compatible with Annex J

Does anyone know how to bring up the router with Annex-J service??

Is there something special i have to configure?

Do i have to buy Cisco 886VA-J???

Software i have tested:

==========================================

c880data-universalk9-mz.151-4.M4.bin

c880data-universalk9-mz.153-1.T.bin

My Router config:

==========================================

rt02#show run | b controller vdsl 0

!

controller VDSL 0

!

rt02#show run int atm0

interface ATM0
description WAN[ADSL T-COM]
no ip address
load-interval 30
no atm ilmi-keepalive
end

rt02#show run int atm0.1

interface ATM0.1 point-to-point
description WAN[ADSL T-COM]
no ip redirects
no ip unreachables
pvc 1/32
  pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1
!
end

Hope someone can help me here.

Many thanks in advance.

regards

Dirk

Hi,

Im also in Germany based.

Do you have the rigt model:

You need:

CISCO886VA-J-K9

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/data_sheet_c78-613481.html

Only this model supports Annex-J

Cheers

Marcel

Hi,

i know, i have already a Cisco 886VA-J but it was hard to get. And now all the suppliers have removed this device from their list. Don't know why as T-COM offers more and more services with Annex-J

And there is a bug between IOS and this type of router which gives you tracebacks for SNMP related to the dedicated DSL-Controller.

Have tried to raise a ticket but the supplier can't open a Cisco case.

There is one strange thing: Why don't we find this router in the list for IOS??

bye

Dirk
