KeenTitan

Level 1

Hello,

I bought a Cisco ASA 5506-X used from eBay. I powered it on, hooked it up to my network, and connected to it via a console cable. However, all that's being output is what looks like a reboot loop. Any suggestions on what to do next?

This is the output it displays each time before reboot:

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hello,

chances are (obviously) that the device is bricked, but you might want to try and format disk0, then install a higher (>9.5.1) version using TFTP. Below is a link to instructions on how to do that...

http://www.microsolutions.com.lk/do-a-clean-install-asa-os-in-5500-x-models/

Hello,

In addition to Georg words, there is several same issues happened before on forum:

https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-security/asa-5506-x-crash-panic-datapath-0-1741/td-p/3215192

https://community.cisco.com/t5/network-security/ctm-error-asa-hardware-accelerator-init-failed/td-p/2514111

In both cases, that was HW issue. In fact you should contact with TAC or Supplier in order to replace broken device.
