Cisco ISR 4461 License

We are trying to input or activate the license for our Cisco ISR 4461 router. It came with IOS XE Gibraltar 16.12.03. We didnt want to use any of the SD-WAN Features so we down graded the IOS to isr4400v2-universalk9.16.09.06.SPA.bin.

Now we are having licensing issues, namely that we dont have a license anymore. We hasve an active Cisco account. How do we retrieve the license for the router we bought?

Any appliances running 16.9.X (and later), are now on Cisco Smart Licensing.

Yessir, we are actively standing up our Cisco Smart license server. We had the licenses, just need them to be installed. Sorry!!

when downgrading IOS from  DNA IOS version to traditional IOS XE facing this problem,

Open a Cisco tac case, explain the scenario & attached the screenshot of the result in Cisco serial contact for device serial number,

CIsco lic engineer will help you generate the  new lic file,

to avoid this in the future, while creating the Device BOM in CCW to buy,

make sure to choose the correct IOS version.

We got a little ahead of ourselfves, to be honest...We have a full license and they are activated. Sorry for the false alarm but thanks for he information!!!!
