Hello guys,
I am having issues testing connectivity from int f0/0 to my PC. First of all, I'd like to let you guys know that I am a somewhat a beginner when it comes to setting up a lab. I am learning how to do this because I am looking to get my CCNA cert soon.
So the problem I have is that when I do a shutdown, the line protocol goes up and then after a few seconds it goes down again. Both devices, my computer and the router are set to auto duplex and auto speed. I am wondering if I need to connect a cable from f0/0 to my computer as well because all I have is the console cable connected to my computer. Do I need to connect a cable from f0/0 to my computer to solve the problem? If so, what cable? Or maybe I need both the console and f0/0 connections to my PC.
Thank you!

Hello,
it sounds like you have the right idea, a cable from the FastEthernet0/0 interface to your PC's NIC (network interface card) is required. The console cable is only used to gain access to the console port of the router, in order to put in a basic configuration...
So, find an Ethernet cable and plug it into your PC and the FastEthernet port.
