Cisco Router 2821 IOS Upgrade Reccomendation Required.

Hi All,

I need to upgrade my router IOS from 

Current IOS: c2800nm-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T1.bin 

New IOS: c2800nm-advsecurityk9-mz.151-4.M10.bin

My Current Rommon Version on Router is  ROM: System Bootstrap, Version 12.4(13r)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

do i need an upgrade to ROMMON Image befor the IOS Upgrade or this ROMMON would support my IOS. Also the LAtest version of Rommon Available for the Router is C2800NM_RM2.srec.124-13r.T11

PLease guide on this.

Its ram would be your issue there do you have 512 / 128  for the new image on your current router, it looks as if the last image runs on a lot less 256 / 64. These 15 images require more hardware

if you dont have enough ram/flash it wont load for you

Below is the output i got from my show tech of my device.

Cisco 2821 (revision 53.51) with 247808K/14336K bytes of memory.
4 FastEthernet interfaces
2 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
2 Serial interfaces
4 Serial(sync/async) interfaces
1 Virtual Private Network (VPN) Module
DRAM configuration is 64 bits wide with parity enabled.
239K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.

Hey you dont have enough  dram to run that version IOS -------247808K/14336K  this is basically 256 when added together it shopuld be 512 if you want to run v15

Edit:   like Cisco CISCO2951/K9 (revision 1.1) with 483328K/40960K bytes of memory. =512

SO cN YOU RECOMMEND ANY IOS IN VERSION 12, BCZ THE CURRENT IOS SEEMS TO BE DEFFERED!!!

Thats the latest you should jump to always try stay in same train 12.4T or else order another stick of ram there cheap enough and the lid slides off replace like PC ram
