Ok i am running through more labs all day today. Im caught trying to ping my router to my TFTP, in the book its saying to ping 192.168.1.100, i tried that , 0/5 percent, so thats a no go, then i tried my own address and that didn't work either. Not sure what im doing wrong. Thanks.

i mean certificationkits tftp server.

Jeromy

Troubleshot it It was because my TFTP was using my wireless network interface and not my LAN connection.

Umm now i am able to ping it but when i use the command: copy flash:c2600-i-mz.123-20.bin tftp

it won't go through, any ideas?

Ok im feeling like im having a discussion with myself but i guess i do that a lot so no worries. I think the problem is my 2610xm is connected directly to my computer by the ethernet cable, but technically im connecting through the internet with my wireless router, which i think if im logically thinking correctly is the issue. Now my dilemma is my 2610xm router doesn't have the internet connection through my wall with an ethernet connect, but rather like the cable connection, so how do get it connected using my 2610xm router and my isp? I am guessing im needing an adapter, hmmm, hope im not completely wrong.

If i can ping my computer 192.168.0.10 but i can't telnet into it, or i can't copy my flash to tftp, what is the problem? how do i trouble shoot it?

Jeromy

Also when i change my ip address to be in the same subnet as my default gateway, i lose connectivity. Im changing it to 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.10 and my ip for my router is 192.168.1.1. and both subnet masks are /24.

Why is my destination filename wrong?

top#copy flash:2600-i-mz.123-20.bin tftp

Address or name of remote host []? 192.168.1.136

Destination filename [2600-i-mz.123-20.bin]?

%Error opening flash:2600-i-mz.123-20.bin (No such file or directory)

top#copy flash:2600-i-mz.123-20.bin tftp

Address or name of remote host []? 192.168.1.136

Destination filename [2600-i-mz.123-20.bin]?

%Error opening flash:2600-i-mz.123-20.bin (No such file or directory)

Jeromy
