Hello everybody

Is possible clean inactive IDBs?

I have a Cisco 3825 that support up to 1200 IDB and now is using 1102, but 614 is inactive.

show idb

Maximum number of Software IDBs 1200.  In use 1102.

                       HWIDBs     SWIDBs

Active                          6        488

Inactive                        5       614

Total IDBs                  11       1102

Size each (bytes)    2888       1432

Total bytes            31768    1578064

Thanks for all.

Hello Andre,

as far as I know you need to reload it to have unused IDBs removed

I did so in the past after testing MPLS traffic engineering scalability

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Thanks for your time.

I would like clear this without reload the equipment.

Hello Andre,

I have to confirm what Giuseppe said. The inability to clear unused IDBs is an IOS limitation. To my best knowledge, there is no workaround. I understand that you need to clear the unused IDBs without causing an interruption in connectivity but in this case, the IOS simply does not have the ability to do so.

Best regards,

Peter

Thanks.
