Hello,
We have a project managing some ruledefs, rulegroups and rulebases in the ASR 5500.
For some delete scenarios we need to be able to rollback to the original configuration which we are required to save at the beginning of each configuration session. We were advised to use a command like:
save configuration /flash/backup-CONFIG-DDMMYYYY.cfg –redundant –noconfirm
then save the .cfg file as a boot image
But what is the way to revert any changes made simply from the flash .cfg file without rebooting the ASR?
In the v17 Administration guide we find as example:
The following command applies a pre-existing CLI configuration file named clearcmds.cfg in the /flash directory.
[local]host_name# configure /flash/clearcmds.cfg
Would this be enough to roll back any changes made? How would it impact current traffic through the router, e.g. does the command imply some downtime? We work in the assumption of a single configuration session to the router.
Hello AtanasGK,
the Cisco ASR 5500 is derived from ASR 9000 that uses IOS XR
see the product spec
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/wireless/asr-5500/index.html?dtid=osscdc000283
As ASR 9000 runs IOS XR that allows rollback I would expect the same for yours ASR 5500.
! the datasheet
the device will act as BRAS for 4G/5G mobile networks.
it would be easier to say it is running some form of IOS XR instead of using a new Star0S system name .... :)
Hope to help
