Configuring VDSL on Cisco 897-VA K9

somehow00
Level 1
Level 1

Hi.

I'm trying to setup Cisco 897-K9 for my VDSL internet connection with dynamic IP (if I will successful then I’ll order a /29 IP prefix).

I was checking different configurations but no of them work.

Some people say I need to put for interface ATM0:

interface ATM0

no ip address

no atm ilmi-keepalive

pvc 8/35

  encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer

  pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1

Others that interface ATM0 should be with no config and shutdown.

Also same with subinterfaces:

1).

interface ATM0.3 point-to-point

 description Netia

 pvc 8/35

  encapsulation aal5snap

  pppoe-client dial-pool-number 3

2).

interface Ethernet0.101

 encapsulation dot1Q 101

 pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1

With route or wiuthout route (ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 Dialer1)

I’m really confused. Anyone can tell me how to configure it properly to make it work? Maybe it's the fault of my Controller firmware or something else

Info from my ISP (NETIA) about my line:

VCI: 35

Sorry, I meant that I didn't type on the console configuration for hostname, user/password access, ssh, and NAT. I've shown my full running-config. If It's necessary to launch NAT to make vdsl connection to work , here it is:

Hello,

you need to 'no shut' interface GigabitEthernet8:

Router#conf t

Router(config)#interface GigabitEthernet8

Router(config-if)#no shut

Now in the config it's:

!

interface GigabitEthernet8

no ip address

duplex auto

speed auto

!

But anyway it's down:

Hello,

on which port is the ISP/cable modem connected ? Is that GigabitEthernet8 ?

it’s not connected from the ISP modem but straight from the line to “vdsl/adsl over POTS” Rj11 port.

Hello,
