console communication

I got 871 router which did not responde to console cable and tera or hyper term. do you know if there is special set up or cable for this kind of routers. thanks

Hi,

The 871 uses the standard console cable. Have you configured hypterterm as 9600-8-N-1 ?

Or the converse might be true. The 871 console port speed might not be set 9600. I will advice that you try different speeds in your hyperterminal configuration.

I did all the things I know change a cable open a ticket with cisco change the speed etc nothing work
