Create VPN site-to-site with router 2800

Hi,

 

I would like to know If is possible create a VPN site-to-site on Cisco router 2800 ?

 

In my side I have cisco router 2800 to create the VPN and on the other side in my partner he has Cisco ASA.

Yes, it is possible to create such an IPSEC tunnel between those two devices.

It is possible create a VPN IPsec from router Cisco 2800, but I needed to buy a license to use this features.

For the 2800 series, I don't recall a separate security license, believe the feature is bundled with the IOS feature set installed. (I.e. you would need a license for the installed feature set.)

NB: The above is the way is used to be (12.x), it's possible Cisco has aligned licensing in later IOS versions to match later ISRs and their IOS versions.

My recollection for some of the pre ISR2 gear is that you'd need/desire the K9 feature-sets to be able to do IPsec on the devices.
