What impact will the daylight savings times changes that were recently announced have on router clocks if you are using and NTP server to accept the time from and you do use the following clock commands?
clock timezone CST -6
clock summer-time CDT recurring
I would guess the router calculates the + or - hour depending on an internal calendar in the IOS?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
The NTP server provides GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), and date. The timezone command tells the router what the offset is. Central time is 6 hours behind GMT. If you are changing to Eastern time the offset will need to be changed to -5.
The daylight savings time is changed on the appropriate fall back, spring forward days.
