Hello,

I need to work out an ip numbering plan exclusively with the network address 10.0.0.0. I have two subnets where the step size is 128.

Router 1
gig0/1 : 10.0.0.1 and subnet mask 255.128.0.0

gig0/0 10.128.0.1 and subnet mask 255.128.0.0

But I don't understand which network router 2 belongs to and what should be the gateway?

Hi

Router 2 must must have ip address between  10.0.0.1 - 10.127.255.254 .  If you added 10.0.0.1 on gig0/1 of Router 1, then Router 2 gig0/0  can be ip address 10.0.0.1 and the gateway can be 10.0.0.1.

You can find subnet /IP calulator online and not to help you find ranges and answers if u not studying for CCNA exam. However, if you plan a career in networking with Cisco (or take any cert exams), you must learn doing subnetting by hand and fast.  Subbnetting is explain in all CCNA books and on youtube. I recommand books by W. Odom from cisco press.  Note that There are 2 ways to do subnetting; I recomand decimal and not binary way.
