To fulfill a requirement of forcing traffic to follow a different path than using the normal routing table, what other options similar to route-maps can be used.

- If its Just for icmp, u can use loose or strict in extended options

For data traffic,

- If network is runing on mpls, can use mpls traffic engineering tunnels

- GRE tunnel can be routed over the new path and the destination can be pointed on to it.
