Hi,

I notice some of the IOS using c7200p-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T3.bin and c7200-advipservicesk9-mz.124-24.T3.bin,

We are running cisco 7206 VXR Router with NPE-G2. what is the benefit of using c7200p instead only c7200?

The c7200p image will not work in the NPE-G1 or older. Similar issue if you use the c7200 image on the NPE-G2, it will not work at all.

Hello Sampathkumar.s,

the p means NPE-G1 or NPE-G2 so you need to use a release c7200p on your device is not a choice

the c7200 is good for older NPE

see

System image file is "disk2:c7200p-advsecurityk9-mz.124-20.T.bin"

sh ver | inc processor

Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2) processor (revision A) with 917504K/65536K bytes of memory.

on an old C7200 instead:

System image file is "slot0:c7200-js-mz.121-21.bin"

h ver | inc processor

cisco 7206 (NPE150) processor (revision B) with 57344K/8192K bytes of memory.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Thanks Guisppe,

We have one router running NPE-G1 without P IOS, will it make any impact?
