Hi,

Catalyst 4900m does not support command "ip sla <entry-number>" like Catalyst 6500. If 4900 does support SLA, how to configure it then?

Switch(config)#ip sla ?
key-chain  Use MD5 authentication for IP SLAs control message
  responder  Enable IP SLAs Responder

Switch#sh ver

Hello,

IP SLA is supported in 12.2(53)SG - the release you use but not in ipbase image. Ipbase supports only responder functions as you saw.

Here is the relase:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/lan/catalyst4500/12.2/53SG/configuration/swipsla.html

"

Note Switches running the IP base image support only IP SLAs responder functionality and must be configured with another device that supports full IP SLAs functionality, for example, a switch.

"

Enterprise image should definitely support it but you can check further in Cisco feature navigator to see all the other features you need:

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/Fusion/sfselectmdf.do?mySession=422560&myStep=7

Hope this helps,

Nik
