This may be a simple question for some. We had registered for a BGP AS a couple of years back. IS the registration of an AS linked to a block of ip addresses? And if we change ISP's do we need to worry about migrating the AS or ip addresses while keeping the existing block of ip addresses?

Hi,
A BGP AS is associated with a block of addresses. Your AS and block of addresses is provider independent and owned by your organisation. When you change ISP, you carry you AS and network range with you.
Thanks

We were hosting our AS on our own router. Now we will have our provider bring in their routers and host and advertise our ip block on their equipment. Do we have a choice to migrate to their AS or keep our AS while keeping the ip block? I'd rather migrate so we do not have to pay annually but I'm not sure how the transfer process works.
