EHWIC-4ESG

Good morning everyone,

I'm looking into getting a EHWIC-4ESG for my ISR 1921.

When I go to buy one of these cards, they're saying they're WAN. Are these able to be used for WAN and LAN interfaces?

Since these ISRs I have only have 2 ports each on them, I'm looking to test out some OSPF and EIGRP with them.

This what it says :

4 × 10/100/1000 switch ports
- Layer 2 switching features such as port autosensing, IEEE802.1P, IEEE802.1x, SNMPV1,V2,V3, QoS, VlAN trunking, STP
- 8 QoS queues per port, Shaped Deficit Weighted Round Robin (SDWRR), dynamic secure port, intrachassis cascading
- Supports redundancy protocol such HSRP, VRRP and BLGP
- Offers IP routing

Now that you mentioned it, yes,

So I'm looking to have the core router which is fed with from a firewall.

Then the core ISR will feed two other IRS running HSRP. Then I want those two other routers to have a backup port going directly to the firewall as a backup just in case the core router goes down. I'd imagine this can all be just with just layer 2 expansion card?

If so, what card should I look into getting for all 3?

Oh perfect,

The site I was looking at to buy these was making it seem like I could use it for what I wanted.

Thank you for that! I appreciate it.
